Global Citizens Public Charter School offers a robust Extended Learning Program. We offer Art, Robotics, Coding, Drama, Spanish, Mandarin, Capoeira, Homework Help, and much more! In addition, snacks and daily fitness activities are offered to our students.

Registration for our Extended Learning Program for the 2026-2027 school year is officially open.  Registration will remain open on a rolling basis until all available seats are filled. While we aim to accommodate as many families as possible, we anticipate reaching capacity and forming a waitlist. We will continually evaluate the waitlist to accommodate as many families as possible. 

Registration Process: Returning Students:All students returning to the Extended Learning Program should use this registration link. You will be prompted to complete the registration form and will automatically be placed on the waitlist for your designated classroom. As a reminder, there is no registration fee for returning students who participated in the program during the 2025–2026 school year.

Registration Process: New Students:All new students (those who are new to the school and/or new to the Extended Learning Program) must complete registration through Procare using the link provided here. A non-refundable $50 registration fee is required to reserve your child's space in the program for families enrolling for the first time. This fee must be paid before submitting your child's registration.

If you are registering more than one child, you only need to complete one registration form and pay one registration fee per family.

We recommend downloading the Procare app (available on both Android and Apple) to manage registration, attendance, invoices, and payments. Below, please find a photo of the app.

You will know that you have successfully submitted a registration form for your child(ren) once you receive the following message: 

Once your registration has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email of acceptance to our Extended Learning Program. Please allow up to 2–4 weeks to receive this confirmation from our team.

PROGRAM HOURS

Our school day is 8:00 am - 3:45 pm (M, T, W, R) and 8:00 am - 12:00 pm (F). Our Before Care begins at 7:00 am, and After School Programming ends at 6:00 pm each day.

INVOICING AND BILLING

Invoices will be issued on the 1st of each month and are due by the 5th of the month. For example, the first invoice will be generated on September 1, 2026, covering the period from August 24, 2026, to September 30, 2026, and will be due on September 5, 2026. 

Payments can be made conveniently through the Procare app or website using: 

• Credit/Debit Cards:  2.7% + $0.30 processing fee

• ACH Bank Transfer:  $1.00 flat fee

• Bounced ACH payments:  $3.5 fee per instance

• Bounced credit card payments:  No additional fee at this time

PRICING INFORMATION

The monthly cost for Extended Learning is fixed and evenly distributed across the school year.  The total cost is calculated based on the full academic year, including all scheduled closures, breaks, and holidays.  That amount is then divided into equal monthly payments. This means that even in shorter months (such as November, December, April, and June), the monthly cost remains the same.  There is no prorating, as days off have already been factored into the annual pricing.

Below, please find pricing for our Extended Learning Programming for the 2026-2027 School Year. Please note that students with recurring outstanding balances may be unable to participate in the program during the upcoming month or school year.

LATE PICKUP POLICY

Our Extended Learning Program ends promptly at 6:00 pm. We understand that occasional, unavoidable delays may happen, so we offer a one-time courtesy grace period of up to 5 minutes (until 6:05 pm) per school year.

Please note the following:

• This grace period is intended for rare emergencies and should not be used regularly.

• If late pickups become a pattern, we will reach out to discuss a plan that supports your family’s needs while respecting program expectations.

LATE FEES:

• After your one-time grace period has been used, late fees will apply starting at 6:01 pm.

• At 6:05 pm (or at 6:01 pm if you have already used your one-time grace period), a fee of $5.00 per minute, per child, will be charged.  This is based on the time your child is signed out by a staff member.

• If your child is not picked up by 6:30 pm, and we have not been able to reach a parent or emergency contact, we may contact Child and Family Services to ensure your child’s safety and well-being.

Timely pickup is critical to keeping all students safe and to honoring the time and responsibilities of our staff.

CANCELLATION POLICY

By enrolling in the Extended Learning Program, families are committing to the full school year. However, we understand that plans may change.

If your family needs to withdraw mid-year, you must notify us in writing no later than the 15th of the month before the month you wish to cancel.  For example:

• To avoid being charged for June, you must notify us by May 15th.

• If cancellation is submitted after the 15th, the full charge for the upcoming month will still apply.

LATE PAYMENT POLICY

Monthly Extended Learning payments are due by the 5th of each month.

For private-pay families, any monthly balance that remains unpaid after the 5th will be assessed a $25.00 late payment fee. Only one late payment fee will be assessed per monthly invoice.

Families experiencing difficulty making a payment by the due date are encouraged to contact Global Citizens as soon as possible so that the school can discuss available options.

Accounts with an outstanding balance of 30 days or more may result in temporary suspension of the student's participation in the Extended Learning Program until:

• The account is brought current; or

• An approved payment arrangement has been established with the school.

Accounts that remain delinquent for 60 days or more may result in termination from the Extended Learning Program.

Families participating in the District of Columbia Child Care Subsidy Program, once available at Global Citizens, will be charged in accordance with applicable OSSE requirements and the terms of the school's subsidy provider agreement.
