Kristen Addison is an accomplished educational leader with more than 20 years of experience in teaching, instructional leadership, curriculum development, and school administration. She is deeply committed to educational equity, academic excellence, and creating inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive.

Kristen currently serves as Head of the Lower School at Key School in Annapolis, Maryland, where she provides strategic leadership for academic programming, faculty development, student support, and school operations. In this role, she oversees instructional quality, supports the professional growth of educators, and partners with families and school leadership to foster a collaborative, student-centered learning community.

Previously, Kristen served as Assistant Principal at Ludlow-Taylor Elementary School within the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), where she helped lead instructional improvement efforts, strengthened literacy instruction, supported teacher development, and used student achievement data to inform academic interventions. She has also served as a reading specialist, literacy coach, and classroom teacher, developing extensive expertise in early literacy, differentiated instruction, and curriculum implementation.

Throughout her career, Kristen has contributed to educational improvement through teacher coaching, professional development, curriculum design, and school leadership. She brings to the Global Citizens PCS Board of Trustees valuable expertise in academic oversight, literacy development, instructional excellence, and organizational growth, along with a strong commitment to ensuring that students have access to rigorous, engaging, and culturally responsive educational experiences.

Kristen earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Bowie State University and a Master of Education in Reading from Trinity University. She also completed elementary education certification studies at American University and holds District of Columbia credentials in school administration, reading specialization, and elementary education.
